ALEXISONFIRE TO HEADLINE POWERHOUSE OPENING NIGHT LINE UP FOR SAUGEEN SUMMER NIGHTS MUSIC FESTIVAL SOPHOMORE EVENT

the Saugeen Summer Nights music festival kicks off June 18, 2010. Located in the heart of the Saugeen River system with camping nearby in the picturesque River Place Park in Ayton, Ontario – the Clifford Ballpark provides a scenic backdrop and ambient location for a supreme night of rock music.

Alexisonfire are set to headline the festival fresh off a cross-Canada arena tour with Billy Talent. Their most recent album OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS debuted at #2 on the Top 200 Soundscan Chart and is the 4th Gold Record certification nod for the quintet in Canada. Nominated for ROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR at the 2010 JUNOs, the band makes a pit stop in Clifford before heading to Europe for a string of major festival appearances.

It’s been an incredible ride for Hamilton’s Arkells since their debut album Jackson Square (Dine Alone) exploded on national commercial radio and video stations. Nominated for NEW GROUP OF THE YEAR this year’s JUNO awards, the album continues to receive considerable critical acclaim while the band takes a break from their rigourous touring schedule to perform at the JUNO Awards Gala dinner in St. John’s, NL on April 17^th.

Moneen have earned a fiercely dedicated fan base by virtue of their renowned explosive live shows. Honoured with a Juno nomination in 2009, the band just returned home to Canada after a successful European tour where their latest album, The World I Want To Leave Behind, was lauded by critics at leading UK-based music publications Kerrang! and Rock Sound.
